Questions we share
Shared questions and professional perspectives for everyone.
Can you have PTSD since childhood with no memory of trauma?
A young woman tentatively diagnosed with PTSD reports longstanding symptoms but cannot identify a clear traumatic event. She asks whether the diagnosis could be mistaken or whether experiences might affect her without being remembered.
Does a therapist have the right to contact my employer?
A former therapy client asks whether a psychologist may contact their employer after receiving an email describing suicidal intent and a specific plan. The question raises both confidentiality and the professional's responsibility to respond to immediate danger.
Will I ever feel normal?
A woman describes long-standing low self-worth, an abusive first marriage and emotional numbness years after her husband's suicide. Although now remarried and receiving psychiatric care, she struggles to connect with others and asks whether recovery is possible.
